Competitive Audit

Review of rewards offered by other brands and services.

Generative Interviews / Persona Creation

Personas were created in collaboration with the UX Researcher. These personas were based on the findings from the UX Researcher’s generative interviews.

Provocation Designs + User Interviews

These design options are to “provoke” a response during user interviews to get a better sense of what is most enticing. First, UX Research led a brainstorm with the full Product team to identify the 5 biggest user needs uncovered during the generative research interviews. Next, I sketched ideas and brainstormed cross-functionally for solutions that could address each of those needs. These designs were then used by the UX Researcher to gauge user interest, early on in the design process. Through these interviews and lo-fidelity designs, we were able to uncover rewards as the most exciting, delightful feature. We also discovered some ideas, such as a page dedicated to a cause space was a user expectation. The product team prioritized both of these design concepts.

The UX Researcher and I created a presentation summarizing this work.

Final PHASE 1 Design

After final usability testing (conducted by a UX Researcher) showed no usability issues, the phase 1 design was finalized and launched. Illustrations, such as the badges and the heart pattern, were provided by the project’s Graphic Designer. Researched showed that while badges alone were interesting, the rewards were an integral part of the experience, so we launched phase 1 with a plan to follow up with a phase 2.

Phase 2 Usability TEsting

Once designs with rewards were complete, they went through usability testing conducted by UX Researcher (see full report). There were minor language changes to help with comprehension.
